I guess my one good story came when I was camping just outside Hinton, Alberta. I was sleeping in the back of my truck with a canopy topper and a mattress… I had been mountain biking all day, drank a few beers and fell asleep and I sleep very deep…. I was awakened at 2 am to footsteps literally shaking the ground. I laid there terrified as a bi pedal something walked right up to my truck… I estimate that there were about 20 footsteps I heard and literally felt as the ground shook with each step. The ground was dry compact gravel like so it was not like it was a soft squishy muskeg. I laid there so scared I didn’t even want to move, I was very scared. I could hear whatever it was sniffing around my truck. Then after a few minutes that felt like hours it slowly walked off… I listened carefully and it was clearly bi pedal. That was 2006. As soon as it was gone I hopped in my drivers seat and left the area. I did go back the next day looking for tracks but the ground was dry and hard, no prints just my skid marks from zooming away!
